Instead, learn how to turn back and forth on your toe and healsides, the “cross over” turn. After that, learn the “cross under” turn.

Take a lesson. You don’t have to take a lesson but that will get you going the fastest. If you can afford it go for a private lesson so that if you catch on quickly you won’t have to be stuck on step one with the rest of the group.

Wear good waterproof clothes because if you get wet and cold it’s hard to have fun and stay positive which is what you need to learn quickly and have a good time.
