LexMan asked:
I want a snowboard kinda for Christmas, but I don’ t know what size and type I should get. I would get a beginner, but are there any superior brands? I ride goofy, by the way. I am a guy, age 13, weighing 80 lbs. and about 5′ 2″ or 3″. What size board should I get? Also what brand? And are there any place that I can get a board, boots, and all that for a kinda low price?

Ask a shop worker for the right size, they would know best. As for companies, I personally stay away from LTD, Fresh, Firefly, Lamar, Morrow, and Kember. Make sure you get what is called slant wall edges. Capped edges are your other option, and they aren’t nearly as durable or good. Get a board with a wood core, and not one made of foam because they will have better flex. Boards with foam cores just bend, and have no pop.

for a low price, most stores offer package deals
as for brands, burton is probably the biggest most trusted name, so you could go with one of their lower level boards
size anywhere from a 148 to a 151

a good snowboard size for you may be a 137cm board. any board that goes up to your mouth-nose is a good size. you can get cheap bindings and boots from local sporting goods store like BIG 5 Sporting Goods.
One of the best snowboard companies are Burton, Libtech, etc.
Theres also freestyle, freeride, freecarve boards.

your gonna probably grow some in the next cpl years right. so getting a brd slightly bigger would work for afew years. as far as brands & models depends on the bucks you spend. marrow makes good boots & brds at least the upper end stuff is. but if your gonna do more growing in the next cpl years spend the $ on a good brd & bindings get the other stuff lower end or good second hand. brd brands 5150,morrow, burton, liquid. bindins: ride ,flow,burton,5150.
